Electronic Technician

Summary

As an essential part of the Paltronics engineering team you will be challenged on a day-by-day basis. Your main responsibility is to provide technical support to engineering. You will also assist production engineering and customer service with problem resolution. This is a perfect opportunity for a smart, organized, aggressive self-starter to advance within the organization.

Attention to detail is essential. You must be a solid verbal and written communicator. You will be required to produce test procedures, BOM’s, engineering reports, as well as process ECO’s under the direction of staff engineers.

Perfect candidate would have some experience with PC board layout (PCAD), casino data systems, slot machine systems, LED displays, and multimedia networks.

Requirements

• Proficient knowledge of both analog and digital circuits.
• Electronic AND mechanical skills necessary to develop/build test boxes/cables for troubleshooting/testing.
• Experience in a SMT PCB manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Visio).
• Ability to assemble, test, troubleshoot, and diagnose digital & analog circuits to component level.
• Ability to debug engineering prototype designs.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, function generators, logic analyzers, multi-meters and debuggers.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and complex schematics.
• Thorough understanding of electronic component specifications for second source selection.
• Excellent soldering, workmanship, and prototyping skills.
• Aggressive, proven self-starter.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of “C” programming language and assembly language for microcontrollers to aid in troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose networks problems using oscilloscopes and packet sniffers.
• Ability to create ORCAD schematic diagrams under direction of senior engineer.
• Handle multiple work objectives without supervision.
