Embedded Hardware/Software Engineer

Summary

As an essential part of the Paltronics engineering team you will be challenged on a day-by-day basis.

The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS in electrical engineering in addition to 5+ yrs experience. Methodical, well developed troubleshooting skills are required, as is a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, system design, circuit design, PCB design and software engineering.

Requirements

• Must have strong problem-solving skills, be self-reliant, self-motivated, creative, confident, good team player, ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong desire to increase skill level and knowledge base.
• Experience in high-speed board design, digital and analog circuit design, schematic capture, circuit simulation, signal integrity analysis, PC board layout guidelines and bus protocols.
• Proven experience with serial, Ethernet and USB communications.
• Proven experience with HDL design and simulation methodology for Xilinx and Altera FPGA’s and CPLD’s.
• Experience with real-time (RTOS), multi-tasking multi-processor systems.
  Experience with EMI/EMC design techniques as well as knowledge of UL and IEC950 safety standards.
• Proficient in using development tools such as assemblers, C compilers, linkers, scripting, debuggers, revision control, test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic/bus analyzers.
• Thorough knowledge of new architectures and algorithms
• Video design background is a plus.
• Windows embedded XP and CE  based software based development skills are a plus
